WHO WE ARE

Regional Clinical Research has been conducting clinical research in upstate New York since 1992. Dr. Bruce Bowling and Dr. Victor Elinoff pursued the challenge of research as a spark to reignite the scientific side of medicine, to share knowledge and experiences with other thought leaders, and to possibly contribute to advances in medicine. It began with merely themselves and a part-time clinical research coordinator, and has grown into a small business which employs 25, and is conducted in a number of offices throughout the community.

In 2002, RCR joined forces with United Medical Associates (UMA) to lend its experience and provide staffing to the research department already established at UMA.

The research industry has evolved greatly over the 14 years, going from an era in which documentation was only done within patient charts, a regulatory binder was a mere 1-2 inches thick, to today’s environment with multi-faceted documentation in both paper and electronic mediums.

Although research today involves tighter budgets, more challenging timelines, and increasingly higher expectations, done well, it remains exciting and intellectually rewarding to the family practice physicians who started this site.
